Erechtheion - the Caryatid Porch

From an old negative, finally scanned and processed. There was much activity on the Acropolis when I visited - you can see some of the scaffolding in this pic. This is one of the most famous remaining monuments of ancient architecture, yet like the Parthenon itself, failed to move me in any significant way. I found in my European travels that it was instead the Renaissance Classicism that I enjoyed the most, with its lighter, more lyrical atmosphere... I must scan in and post some of these buildings...
